Speech Pathologist - new graduate, experienced or senior

About the role:

Multiple opportunities exist for a Speech Pathologist to join our team. Senior and new grads are encouraged to apply. Flexible full-time or part-time positions are available. The role will see you working within our clinics based at Fullarton and Welland as well as attending community-based visits within the Adelaide metropolitan area. We accept adult and paediatric referrals and can match caseloads to your skills and interests. You will work as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team of clinicians.

About you:

Our ideal candidate will display exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work within a multidisciplinary team. You will demonstrate the ability to create customised treatment plans and implement them using specific strategies for each client. You will bring empathy, patience and encouragement. You will be passionate in providing a quality service for our clients and supporting them to achieve their goals.

Experience in conducting assessments and delivering evidence-based care would be advantageous, however on-site training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients to diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Analyse client evaluation notes to determine the individual’s strengths and limitations.
  • Provide evidence-based therapy to address speech, language, communication, and swallowing issues.
  • Develop and implement therapy goals and objectives tailored to the unique needs of each client.
  • Educate clients and their families about their conditions, and teach strategies and exercises to improve communication and swallowing function.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records using the business software platforms.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals and management to provide comprehensive care.
  • Conduct home visits and visits to the community as required.
  • Attend review meetings, team meetings, case conferences, training events, and company events as required.
  • Stay up to date with the latest speech pathology techniques, research, and best practices through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to all legal and ethical standards related to client care, including NDIS and Speech Pathology Australia regulations.

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor or Masters of Speech Pathology
  • Current Professional Registration (Speech Pathology Australia)
  • Current DHS (DCSI) Clearances, Reporting Abuse and Neglect and Applied First Aid Certificates or willingness to obtain.
  • Drivers licence and use of own registered, insured motor vehicle for business purposes
  • High degree of professionalism and judgement with the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Supports productive relationships with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently and with people at all levels
