Raising literacyA child’s brain develops at a rapid rate during their first few years of life.  Sharing stories with your child is one of the most important activities you can do to promote healthy brain development and build the connections for future learning.

 

The Little Big Book Club program supports families and early childhood practitioners to read, sing, talk and play every day through book recommendations, play based activities and practical suggestions on how to make story time a great time for all!

How to Nurture a Love of Stories is a workshop for parents and carers with children from birth to 6 years of age and will include:

 

An overview of early brain development

Discover how a child’s brain develops in the first five years and how you can support your child’s growing vocabulary and emerging literacy skills.

 

Hints and tips

Explore techniques for engaging your child through shared reading and find out how to extend the story experience to support your child’s development.

 

Take Home Resources

Take home a FREE picture book and ideas to extend stories into engaging activities.

 

Bringing the kids along? We will have FREE creche services available on the night. Please advise when booking if you wish to use this service.
