This Diploma gives you the skills, knowledge and experience for a rewarding career in the growing Childcare industry, helping you become recognised as a potential worker or supervisor by employers. You'll learn to provide care for babies and toddlers, nurture creativity in children, establish and maintain a safe/healthy environment for children with a large focus on planning and preparing activities based on education through play.
As an educator, you may work under direct supervision or autonomously in a range of Early Childhood Education settings which may be centre based, home based or within the community.
The Diploma can provide a pathway for further study at university level.

Qualification Units
This qualification has a total of 15 units of competency which are split up into 12 core units and 3 elective units.
Students must complete a total of 280 hours (placement) under supervision in a regulated Education and Care Service. If you are currently working within the Early Childhood sector, your experience may count towards your placement hours.

Funded Program
This course is supported by the Government of South Australia and Australian Government. If you're eligible to receive this support, you will only need to pay a student contribution fee of $691.50. No further payment is required.

About the course
Our Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care CHC50121 is designed to help you build on your existing skills as an early childhood education provider. It’s perfect for those who are looking to take their career to the next stage.
With Enhance Training you’ll gain the skills to support children in achieving their developmental outcomes and extend your knowledge of the Education and Care Services, National Regulations and National Quality Standard.
Who is the course for?
If you love your work in the sector and want to expand your skill base and further support children and others working in the industry, this course is for you.
As the next step up from your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care, you’ll begin designing and implementing a curriculum for children to assist in shaping them into great future adults. You’ll also be able to work in qualified roles where you may be supervising other staff and volunteers.
In house student support
You will receive great student support throughout your studies with Enhance Training where you will have your own trainer providing support or for more individualised strategies, a learner support service (LSS) case manager will be assigned to you. LSS is an initiative of SkillsSA and the Government of South Australia and supports you with study plans, flexible study delivery, after hours support and guidance which also extends after your training is complete.

Placements
This course requires you to complete 280 hours of Vocational Placement, under supervision in a regulated Education and Care Service. This can be completed while you study.
If you are already working within the Early Childhood sector, your experience may count towards your placement hours.
Enhance Training's Traineeship and Placement Officer will be happy to discuss your placement options.
What you will need
As a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care student you will need access to internet, email and a computer.
Students will also require a relevant Working with Children Check.

Eligibility
To be eligible to join this course, you must have a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121 or CHC30113).
