The Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care focuses on the knowledge and skills needed to design and implement a curriculum for children.
Learn how to support children in achieving their developmental outcomes and extend your knowledge of the Education and Care Services, National Regulations and National Quality Standard. The next step up from the Certificate III, the Diploma enables you to work in a qualified role where you may be supervising other staff and volunteers.

This Diploma gives you the skills, knowledge and experience for the growing Childcare industry, helping you become recognised as a potential worker or supervisor by Childcare employers. You'll learn to provide care for babies and toddlers, nurture creativity in children, establish and maintain a safe/healthy environment for children and much more.
As an educator, you may work under direct supervision or autonomously in a range of Early Childhood Education settings which may be centre based or home based
The Diploma provides a pathway for further study at university level.

Successful completion of this course provides you with the opportunity to be employed in a variety of in home and centre based roles. We also provide students opportunities for childcare jobs within Hessel Group, if eligible. Giving you greater chances of being employed if you study with us.

This course has a total of 28 course units which are split up into 23 core units and 5 electives.
Students must complete a total of 240 hours (placement) under supervision in a regulated Education and Care Service. If you are currently working within the Early Childhood sector, your experience may count towards your placement hours.

Funded Program
This course is supported by the Government of South Australia. If you're eligible to receive their support, you will only need to pay a student contribution fee of $1000. Once you do that the course will be completely paid for.

Payment Options
You can pay your course fees by quarter or half installments.
For example, if the course itself costs $500, you may pay $125 in four payments, or $250 in two payments at a negotiable time.
If these payments options do not work for you we can always negotiate something appropriate for your circumstances.
